Laval intends to start constructing $120-million biogas plant next year

Laval is finalizing the details on an ambitious $120-million project to turn kitchen scraps into natural gas.
City officials hope to begin work next year on a biogas plant next to Laval's watertreatment facility in the St. Francois district.

Once built, the biogas plan will give Laval a head start on waste management in the region. Montreal is trying to identify suitable sites for its composting infrastructure.
