Potawatomi biogas plant zoning gains early approval

Heat from a new biogas facility would be used to heat the Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley.

The Forest County Potawatomi Community’s planned new biogas facility near its Menomonee Valley casino gained unanimous approval from a city zoning committee on Tuesday.

The 2 megawatt plant would convert waste products from food production companies to gas and then burn the gas to produce electricity. Heat from the process will heat the casino, and the electricity from the plant will be sold to We Energies.
