Biogas Incentives in Ontario

The Ontario government offers some of the most generous invectives in the world to promote the installation of renewable energy systems.

Ontario Biogas Systems Financial Assistance Program

In 2007, the Ontario government launched the Ontario Biogas Systems Financial Assistance program. This $11.2 million program can provide up to $400,000 in funding to farmers and rural businesses.
There are two phases to the program:

• Phase 1 covers up to 70 per cent of a feasibility study, up to $35,000;
• Phase 2 covers up to 40 per cent of construction and implementation costs up to $400,000 for each anaerobic digester system.
